Event Description
Discover the hidden histories and vibrant ecosystems of Singapore's southern islands in "Singapore's Lost Islands." This documentary takes you back to the 1970s, when these islands had thriving communities with unique identities. Over the years, reclamation projects have transformed the landscape, merging islands and erasing some names from memory. Yet, the 40-plus islands that remain today are teeming with life and stories.
Learn about Pulau Jong, where during spring tide, the water level drops dramatically to reveal a vast reef, six times larger than the island itself. Follow passionate volunteers as they document the diverse marine species before the sea reclaims the land.
