Long misunderstood on its initial release, the "Reprise" version features additional scenes, trimmed dialogue, and a tighter running time. Seen today, it plays as a full-fledged cult reclamation: romantic, risky, and inseparable from Coppola’s mythic rise, fall, and fearless creative ambition that culminated in the box office failure of his potential magnum opus METROPOLIS.
