About this Event
Join Sheffield Libraries and Sheffield DocFest this Black History Month for a screening of Master of Light, winner of the First Feature Competition at DocFest in 2022.
Sentenced to eleven years in Pr*son for dealing drugs, painter George Anthony Morton used this time to hone his artistic skills. On his release, he struggled against a mainly white cultural landscape, forging his own style and vision. When he returns to his home in Kansas City, he faces ghosts from his past.
A vital story of systemic racism, trauma, healing, art and creativity.
This is a community impact screening in partnership with Sheffield DocFest. The film will be introduced by a speaker from DocFest.
As this film does not have an official BBFC age classification, attendees should be over 18, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
