February 28 is the 50th anniversary of the historic struggle at Wounded Knee, at Pine Ridge Reservation. February 6, is the 48th anniversary of the unjust imprisonment of political prisoner Leonard Peltier, who remains in U.S. federal prison in Florida, despite national and worldwide demands for his freedom. In 1978, the US government conducted a frame-up and railroaded Leonard Peltier into prison, after a shoot-out at Pine Ridge that followed an FBI raid on spurious grounds. Since then Leonard Peltier has been in prison for the past 48 years. Join us at 6pm on March 2, Thursday at Rochambeau Library, 708 Hope st, Providence, for a film screening of "Incident at Oglala" to know about this outrageous 48 years of imprisonment.
After the film, we will have discussion strategize about how we can continue to build the movement to #FreeLeonardPeltier
