Film Screening "Die Ermittlung"

As part of the German Week, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation is presenting the film The Investigation, based on the stage play of the same name by Peter Weiss. The feature film portrays the Frankfurt Auschwitz Trial (1963–1965), bringing witness testimonies and historical facts vividly to life. Like the original stage play, the film highlights two central problems in the way the crimes committed by the National Socialists at Auschwitz and other concentration and extermination camps were addressed at the time.

The release of the film was supported by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation as part of its thematic focus on “Liberal Democracy and Open Society.”
