About this Event
Peabody Award-winning filmmaker Raymond Zhang follows the story of two families in China embarking on a perilous twenty-year journey searching for their missing family members. Along the way, they uncover a harrowing government-run organ harvesting operation that is destroying the lives of thousands of innocent victims, and still occurring to this day.
This powerful documentary explores how the popularity of the Falun Gong spiritual movement caused former Chinese Communist Party leader Jiang Zemin to view the practice as a threat, resulting in Falun Gong practitioners being directly targeted and subjected to forced organ harvesting.
With recent developments, including the Falun Gong Protection Act being re-introduced to the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate, the documentary is not only timely, but a vital educational film on a devastating and ongoing issue.
After the screening, join us for a Q&A session with Dr. Kirk C. Allison. Dr. Allison is a public health expert and human rights activist. He directed the Program of Human Rights and Health at the University of Minnesota from 2006-2016 and has provided testimony to the Congressional House Committee on Foreign Relations concerning organ harvesting in China.
