About this Event
The heroes of “Community in Exile” tell the stories about their lives in Ukraine during WWII and how they ended up in Nottingham. The author of the film is Leo Jurkiw, who has been a member of the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain for more than half of his life. In 2000 he documented the memories of the people who founded the local Ukrainian community to pass it on to the next generations
However, a war is not just a part of history for Ukrainians anymore. The costs of the tickets will support a fundraising appeal from UNICEF, which has been helping Ukrainian children since the start of the war
After the event, there will be a charity bake sale and an exhibition of the artworks by local Ukrainians in the First Art shop
