September 2: Frida Kahlo: This is from the Biography channel. “In a life marked by unrelenting physical pain, she triumphed over adversity to become one of the greatest 20th-century painters.” (50 min.)
September 9: Lifeline. This documentary on abstract expressionist Clyfford Still explains why Jackson Pollock once said, “He makes the rest of us look academic,” + why Mark Rothko called him a mythmaker. (87 min.)
September 16: The Universe of Keith Haring Part 1 (1 hr.)
September 23: Completion of Keith Haring (30 min.) + the first 30 min. of Mrs. Lowry and Son. Beloved British artist L. S. Lowry and his complicated relationship with his mother is the subject of this drama starring Timothy Spall and Vanessa Redgrave.

October 14: Al Hirshfeld: the Line King. A talented and popular draftsman leads a happy life in New York. (87 min.)
October 21: A Man Among Men: Alberto Giacometti (52 min.) You’ve seen his unique work; now hear it explained.
