Join us for the International Premiere of María la Portuguesa, directed by Eduardo Montero (2024 | 65m | 12).Amaranta Cano investigates the murder and alleged love affair that inspired her father, singer-songwriter Carlos Cano’s most popular and internationally renowned song. Traveling between Andalusia and Portugal, Amaranta reconstructs events while paying homage to Portuguese fado – a musical genre that deeply inspired her father. Speaking with key witnesses, she also invites prominent artists to perform their own renditions of her father’s legendary song.
