The Good Grief Project is the brainchild of bereaved parents Jane Harris and Jimmy Edmonds whose son Josh died in a road accident in Vietnam in 2011. Jane is a psychotherapist and Jimmy is a filmmaker. A Love That Never Dies documents their journeys to Vietnam, India and across the USA – a trip made in honour of Josh who was also on his travels when he died. Over a three-month period, they met and filmed eleven families all of whom shared remarkable stories of living beyond the death of their child. But not without facing some big big questions. How do we integrate loss? How can we ride the pain? How can I forgive? Above all, grief stories are love stories.
The Good Grief Project’s mission is to support families grieving after the untimely death of a loved one, particularly the death of a son or daughter of any age, and to promote an understanding of what it means to grieve in a society that often has difficulty talking openly about death, dying and bereavement.
Following the screening of the film (75 mins) Jane Harris and Jimmy Edmonds will discuss some of the themes of the film and their experience of the tragic loss of her son. There will also be an opportunity to ask them questions.
