We are excited to partner with Little Manila Queens Bayanihan Arts for 2024’s Filipino American History Month and our 14th Annual Awards Ceremony! This year, we are highlighting NY-based Filipino American Community organizations in addition to this year’s awardees! Our Awards Ceremony is our biggest in-person event of the year and is widely attended by FANHS-MNY members, community organizations, and family/friends of awardees.

Filipino American history has had instances of struggle, solidarity, and resilience. Struggle refers to the systemic oppression and violence that the Filipino American community has faced, including discriminatory laws and hateful violence based on race, ethnicity, and other identities. Solidarity describes how Filipino Americans have organized to fight against injustice within their communities and alongside other racial and ethnic groups. Resilience demonstrates the success of Filipino Americans in overcoming adversity throughout history despite the systemic and interpersonal obstacles they have endured.
