Filecoin Foundation is proud to be a sponsor of DC Fintech Week 2021. While the main event is virtual this year, we're excited to host the official in-person component at our Filecoin Orbit Lounge on Wednesday, October 20th from 8:00am-5:00pm in downtown DC.
Hosted by Georgetown University Law Center, DC Fintech Week convenes nonprofits, technologists, entrepreneurs and regulators to discuss emerging policy issues around financial innovation. Since launching in 2017, it has been one of the few public forums where regulatory and central bank officials directly discuss Fintech policy matters with cryptocurrency builders and traders, civil rights activists and digital infrastructure providers.
The Filecoin Orbit Lounge will have a "watch party" feel where attendees can network and watch DC Fintech Week programming in-person. We are happy to host you as long or short as you want to stay but we're limited to a capacity of 50 people at a time to keep everyone safe. Stop by during the day to grab a coffee or drink, mingle with guests and Filecoin Foundation staff, and catch some DC Fintech Week content on screen. The venue has ample workspaces and outlets if you need to hop out to take a call or charge your electronics.
In a live, on-site session, we'll discuss the token economy and Web3 policy matters while commemorating the one-year anniversary of the Filecoin mainnet launch, as part of Filecoin Orbit week.

As a reminder, Orbit events follow the Filecoin community code of conduct and all in-person events will be compliant with all local COVID-19 restrictions and guidance.

We are not collecting any of your information for our files so please bring your vax card or an electronic picture of it along with a government issued ID card. If you prefer to use an app to secure your vax card, you may want to consider CLEAR Health App, Common Pass, VeriFly, VaxYes and VACCTRACK for Androids.If you are NOT vaccinated, we ask that you do not attend for your health and safety as well as others.Masks will be required in the indoor spaces except when actively eating or drinking.There is an outdoor patio area connected to the lounge for networking and mingling.Please respect other participants who choose to wear a mask outside, physically distance from one another and choose not to shake hands or hug.Please monitor your own health status and do not attend the event if you are symptomatic in any way or if you believe you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19.Please take necessary precautions while at the event including, but not limited to, engaging in appropriate physical distancing, wearing a mask regardless of vaccination status (DC mandate unless actively eating or drinking), minimize face touching, frequently washing hands and avoiding risky environments.
