We’re kicking off our first-ever Fightingville Holiday Stroll on Saturday, December 13, presented in partnership with the La Place Coterie! Stroll with us through the La Place neighborhood and enjoy dance performances, spoken word poetry, artist activations, and holiday decor all culminating at Second Saturday ArtWalk!We’ll gather at Black Café from 5:00–5:30pm, then set off together as the neighborhood comes alive with holiday spirit! The Stroll officially begins at 5:30pm. Along the route, experience Zydeco dancing with Corey J. Frank, Spoken Word Poetry with Candice Leigh, and choreography by Whitney Willis Hebert. Artist installations along the route by Carey Hamburg, Chloe McFarland, and Kelsey Strahan.
Our stroll ends at Basin Arts, where you can stay and celebrate Second Saturday ArtWalk until 8:00pm. This ArtWalk is your last chance to view The Annual BARE Walls Group Exhibition in the gallery, so you don’t want to miss this! Come walk, listen, look, and celebrate the spirit of community with us.
The Fightingville Holiday Stroll is part of our greater Window Wonderland Project which aims to bring holiday cheer and artistic inspiration to Downtown Lafayette and the greater urban core.
