Stage combat requires the ability to tell stories of violence while maintaining the safety of all involved. Having the capacity to create these stories in multiple different ways is paramount. This skill set is crucial when working with collaborators who may have a variety of access needs. "Fighting on the Spectrum" provides both practical and pedagogical tools and perspective for working with neurodivergent collaborators in stage combat. All of which can ultimately make the artform more accessible.

Hannah "Rock" Roccisano (she/her) is a New York City based fight and intimacy director, director, educator and Shakespeare nerd. Her work has been seen off-Broadway including Wolf Play, A Bright New Boise, and Montag this season. Rock has additionally choreographed regionally and at multiple universities such as Columbia University, Syracuse University and the Hartt School. She is a Certified Teacher with the SAFD and holds two masters degrees, an MFA and Master of Letters in Shakespeare & Performance from Mary Baldwin University. Hannah is the Chair of Development for the SAFD and the founder of Expand, Educate, Empower, an initiative bringing free stage combat training to students in underserved communities across the U.S.
