The Kimberley is full to the brim with some of the world’s most extensive intact natural landscapes, coupled with the rich culture of its Aboriginal custodians. But with frackers the closest they have ever been to turning the region upside down into an industrial wasteland, we teamed up with Kimberley Traditional Owners, climate scientists and economists from The Australia Institute to produce a new film.
‘Fighting Giants’ is a rallying call to defend so much that West Australians value: the stunning, intact landscapes of the Kimberley, our fragile climate, and Aboriginal culture and land.
We can’t wait to share what we have spent the last few months working on and would love to have you, your family and your friends along for the premiere of this ode to the Kimberley and urgent call to action.
Fighting Giants will have Special Preview screenings across two nights, in Perth/Boorloo on Wednesday evening 27 July, and in Fremantle/Walyalup on Sunday afternoon, 31 July.
Mangala Martu women Nuriah and Madeline Jadai, Kimberley Traditional Owners, will be travelling from the Kimberley to speak at the events.
