More than a million individuals across Ohio face food insecurity. You can help by joining us at this year’s county fair as we work to collect non-perishable food items to donate to local food pantries. Presented by Farm Credit Mid-America and sponsored by its consumer lending division, Rural 1st, the fourth annual Fight Hunger, Stock the Trailer contest challenges kids in junior county fairs around the state to see which community can collect the most donations for local food pantries.
Besides doing good for the community, there are prizes, too. All participating junior fairs will receive a $500 prize, which will be awarded to the top 5 groups (4-H Clubs, FFA Chapters or Scout troops only). Whichever junior fair collects the most pounds of food items receives a $5,000 donation, and we’re hoping that’s us! We can use this money to support our junior fair activities.
To donate, you can bring non-perishable food items to the marked trailer in the Display Barn at the Fairfield County Fair from October 5-11, 2025. This year, all donations collected will support local Fairfield County food pantries.
Let’s work together to address hunger in our community!
