About this Event
Tyrion Lannister famously said, "I drink and I know things". Well, in this course, you will learn things, specifically swordfighting, and perhaps have a drink afterward. In this ongoing class, the instructors will show you many styles of swordfighting from medieval through modern fencing. Using safety foam swords, you will start by learning the basics of medieval single-handed swords including footwork, guards, and attacks.
Once you have learned the basics, you will engage in safety sparring matches with instructors and fellow students. As you and your fellow students improve your sword skills, you will move on to other weapons, such as two-handed sword, dagger, sword, and shield, just to name a few. The class will meet monthly on Tuesday evenings.
After class, join your comrades in a refreshing drink from the meadery. Sign up through Geek Fit Network. Class begins on January 9th. See you there.
