The 2026 Spring leg of our Fifth and Clark Fridays series continues on March 6 with Mad Delirious. As Mad Delirious is known to say…. “We are Mad Delirious, we hope you are too”
Mad Delirious is not your typical Iowa band. They have formed an ever evolving ever exploring music style they call Poly-psychedelic. Poly-psychedelic meaning they play psychedelic styles of all genres of music, rock, funk, pop, country, You never know whats going to come out of these guys. On lead guitar Cody Fedeler: One would think Cody is busy looking at photos of cats and watching Godzilla movies but in reality he is just spending his nights on the treadmill playing his Les paul. Neal Simmons is a transplant to northern Iowa, coming all the way from where the lizards fall out of trees when it gets too cold. You might see him speeding down the left lane honking at slow drivers(Cody) but when he is home is spending lots of time writing and playing music. Neal has a solo act also Neal Simmons music and is often running the open jams and mics at our local bars. Joe Bartusek might have more than 4 limbs, we can never really tell. He has been playing in bands all throughout the area and is the current drummer in both Mad Delirious and Of Old Magic, both all original bands. Justin Delirious the founder of Mad Delirious moved back to northern Iowa after spending some time on the north coast of California. He knew when he came back he was going to help reinvent the music scene in mason city/Iowa and has done good job of getting the kindling a blaze. Ben Whipple runs the keyboards also known as the spaceship. He is a multi instrumentalist and is proud to say music has saved his life.
