
About this Event
Join Shiftworks Community + Public Arts for Field Sessions, an artist information session and social mixer. This event brings together artists and creatives who are interested in working in the public realm and is open to artists across all disciplines, especially those with limited or no prior experience in public art.
The evening will be hosted at Emerald City, a co-working space that prioritizes Black entrepreneurship and Black professionals in Pittsburgh through resources, education, and opportunities. During the event, attendees will discover how Shiftworks supports artists and will learn about ways to get involved in the public realm.
This event is free to attend; advance registration is required. Refreshments will be provided.

Emerald City, founded in 2021, is a 12,000-square-foot coworking, event, and social space dedicated to catapulting Black entrepreneurs and businesses to wealth and regional success. Access & Accommodations
This event will be held indoors at Emerald City, located on the second floor of 213 Smithfield Street, Pittsburgh, 15222. There is paid public parking in several nearby garages. The location is also served by public transit (see "Parking and Transportation").
The offices are accessed by a push-button door opener and an elevator to the second floor. Facilities include multi-stall single-gender ADA compliant restrooms.
Please note that masks are not required for attending in-person events but will be made available upon request. We ask that all attendees respect the health and safety of others; if you are sick, please stay home.
To request additional accommodations for this event, please submit your request in writing on the event registration form. A Shiftworks staff member will follow up with you directly about your request. We will attempt to implement requests for reasonable accommodations to the best of our ability, but cannot guarantee that all requests will be met. Alternate accommodations may be suggested by staff. - Wood -Allies Garage located on Boulevard of the Allies across from Point Park University
- Mellon Square Garage located on Smithfield Street across from the Omni William Penn Hotel.
