This course is designed to push your winter weather boundaries! Bundle up and grab your traveling sketchbook bags for a mixed-media outdoor adventure that combines exploration, observation, research, detailed drawing, and writing. This workshop, called Field Notes, encourages you to dedicate time to building a library of inspiration. It serves as a platform for grounding yourself in the moment, documenting your surroundings, and engaging in play and experimentation.Key components of the workshop include
Exploring the natural world around you
Creating the perfect travel-sized field notes toolbox
Experimenting with different materials and techniques
Developing and maintaining a mobile creative habit
Connecting with a community that challenges and shares your interests
We will start each session at a casual pace, spending at least half the time outdoors, and we may even explore in the dark, so please pack accordingly. Remember to bring snacks, dress for the weather, and wear sensible shoes. Hot beverages and a fire will warm us when we return to the studio.

Mixed-media Hardcover Sketchbook
Drawing Set ( HB Pencil, Ink Pen, Smudge Stick, Flexible Ruler, and Kneadable Eraser)
Pocket Microscope
Students Bring
BYO-preferred portable art supplies (no oil paints)
Dress appropriate for weather conditions
Bring refillable water bottle and snacks
Lightweight blanket or sitting pad
Extra pair of socks
3 Thursdays, Feb. 5th, 19th and 26th and 1 Friday, Feb. 13th, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm [Thursday, Mar. 5th snow day make-up]
Location: Treehaus Studio at The Acreage (1017 N. Cascade Street, Osceola, WI)
Age: 16+, open to younger participants accompanied by a guardian

Registration: $125 (through WBCA)
