This live, 1-hour class will cover everything you need to know about writing a successful and compelling query letter, including:
- Resources to help you determine which agents to query and when
- Strategies for batching and tracking submissions to ensure you don't waste time barking up the wrong tree
- Whether and how to personalize your query letter
- Ways to hook and cultivate an agent's curiosity
- How to structure your query letter for maximum success
- What "metadata," "comps," and other buzzwords of querying really mean... and how to use them to your advantage
- Red flags that make an agent stop reading and how to avoid them
- When and how to follow up with agents who haven't responded to you yet

About the instructor: Stephanie Ronco spent years researching and testing successful query writing strategies so that you don't have to! And yes, she landed her own agent by cold querying. Stephanie is represented by Lissa Woodson of The Seymour Agency, and her novel is currently out on submission for publication. Stephanie is a member of Romance Writers of America and the Women’s Fiction Writers Association, and she also works as a freelance editor, where she revels in the chance to help other people leap hurdles they never thought they could overcome.
