Join us for this hands-on workshop where you'll learn essential sewing techniques, such as measuring, cutting, and assembling fabric pieces. We'll teach you how to set up the sewing machine and work with a sewing pattern.
In this class we're making a drawstring bag. The core skills we're covering are:
- easy hemming
- seams and seam finishing
- insert a drawstring
You'll want to hem everything after taking this class!
Don't worry if you don't have any sewing experience or equipment. We'll provide all the necessary materials and sewing machines for you to use during class. You are encouraged to bring your own sewing machine, with the power cord, foot control, and all accessories. Every person in the classroom needs a ticket for class, even if you are sharing a sewing machine.

Shannon Marshall, owner of Sonoma County Sewing Company.
Shannon has been a professional seamstress since 1998, a sewing teacher since 2005, and a local business owner since 2017.
Over the years she has worked with many local designers and small businesses, sewing their prototypes, samples, and custom orders
