◈ Subsonik is back once again—a night dedicated to bass and body-moving sonics.◈ This time, we have a variety of bass-infused styles, from percussive dubbed out club music to deep and dub-y techno.
◈ We're thrilled to present a special live set from UK-based artist Al Wootton, a deep dive into dub techno with Echocord founder Kenneth Christiansen, and a bass-infused warm-up set from Copenhagen-based DJ Vika.
◈ Not only that, but to start off the evening, local artist Alpo will perform a live ambient dub techno concert at 20:00, promoting the release of his debut album "No Time For Delay".
◈ Join us at our beloved home, Institut for (X), for a night filled with body and mind-massaging low frequencies.

Al Wootton is a standout name in the UK scene, known for his ability to blend techno, jungle, dubstep, and bass music into surprising and beautifully crafted psychedelic yet hard hitting and deep productions. His most recent work, Albacete EP, gives way “to low slung steppers, trance inducing percussion trips, psyched out Goa beatdowns and mutoid hardcore reductions. Raw and bristling psychedelic techno dubs for out there heads and feet.”
Wootton has consistently been releasing quality music since 2009, with club ready UKG and dubstep records under his former alias Deadboy, and since 2019 he has released two full-length albums on his own label Trule, which , along with various releases on Livity Sounds & ZamZam Sounds.

Kenneth Christiansen has been DJing across Europe for over two decades, performing at iconic clubs like Fabric, Berghain, and Tresor, as well as major festivals such as Sonar, ADE, and Dimensions. He has been a fixture in the European scene since the late '90s, with his tasteful deep and dubby techno style.
Beyond DJing, Christiansen is a key figure in Denmark's electronic music landscape. He co-founded Copenhagen's Culture Box with Loke Busch and has been instrumental in shaping the city's dance music scene. He also runs the influential dub techno label Echocord, along with Echocord Colour, Echo Echo, and the collaborative Pattern Repeat project with Resoe.

Copenhagen-based DJ Vika has been making a name for herself in the scene over the past few years through frequent appearances on Drift & Depot Radio and various Copenhagen venues. More recently travelling into Europe to play at TES in Tbilisi and on Cashmere Radio in Berlin.
As a core part of the Kune festival crew, she's become an important member of the Copenhagen club scene. With a passion for dub-infused bass-driven club music, she has recently started a club night called Spectrum for all the dub and bass nerds in the scene.

Local producer and DJ Andy Meyer recently embarked on a new project under the name Alpo. In June 2024, he released his debut album "No Time for Delay" on Aarhus label Lightweight Electronics. The album explores the essence of dub techno: spontaneous repetition, immersive atmospheres, and creative use of noise. It's a beautifully oscillating work that's both meditative and gracefully danceable. The album showcases Andy's skill and ear for emotive yet playful music, viewed through the lens of dubbed-out melodic noise, sparse atmospheres and warm, deep rounded undertones.
Come down early for Alpo's debut live performance of the album at 20:00.
