Festive Natural Ink Workshop

Welcome to the Natural Ink Workshop!

Come join us at The Make Space for a hands-on experience in creating artist grade inks from natural, festive materials. (including fragrances!) In this workshop, you will be shown which plants can be used for ink making (weather permitting), in the beautiful surrounding area of the Tithe Barn. You will be taught how to extract their colour and how to use modifiers and binders. Let your creativity flow as you experiment with different colors. No prior experience is necessary - just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to learn. (And clothes you don't mind getting inky!). All materials will be provided. Info: We will start the day by touring the local area where you will be shown which plants are suitable to cook and extract colour from. In the event of bad weather there will be a supply of materials to look at. There will be lots of examples of our work, inks, paints, papers for you to look through. Then we will spend some time creating modifiers and binders to make artist grade festive inks which you will then have time to experiment with. By the end of the workshop you will have your own bottle of ink and a digital instruction manual to take away with you!
