Join us for a special workshop to decorate your own festive lantern and be part of the Great Grimsby Light Parade at the Christmas Festival on Saturday 22 November. This free, family-friendly workshop is open to all. All materials will be provided, and you’ll have plenty of options to personalise your lantern design. Please note that crafting can get a little messy, so we recommend wearing suitable clothing – aprons will be provided.
BOOK NOW AT –
https://www.tickettailor.com/events/greatgrimsbyschristmasfestival/1898707
Please note: Booking is per lantern, not per person. Groups are welcome – for example, a child and adult (or a small group) can work together to create one lantern, which counts as a single booking.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Those under 11 will need help during the workshop (15 November) and when carrying the lantern at the Parade (22 November).
With your finished lantern you will attend the Great Grimsby Christmas Parade on Saturday 22 November 2025.
Participants should meet at 4:45pm at People Make Grimsby (same location as the workshop) to collect their lanterns and prepare for the parade, which will set off at 5:15pm.
If weather permits, the parade route will take us from Freshney Place to Riverhead Square, along Victoria Street, and finally to St James Square for the Christmas tree lighting – a magical finale to the day. If weather is not on our side, the parade will still take place but just inside Freshney Place Shopping Centre.
