We're inviting individuals, organizations, and businesses to showcase their decorating prowess by entering our Christmas Tree Decorating Competition. Imagine your unique tree design dazzling shoppers at MicMac Mall and winning the admiration of both expert judges and the public!
How it Works:
Enter the Competition: For a $100 (+HST) entry fee, you'll secure your spot to create a one-of-a-kind Christmas tree masterpiece.
Get Creative:
Let your imagination run wild! Trees cannot be alive, but they can be crafted from any material you desire – from traditional artificial evergreens to innovative, eco-friendly designs. You must supply your own decorations, lights and tree. You may decorate your tree onsite. All ornaments must be attached to the tree to prevent damage as the public is walking around the trees. You are free to express your creativity and originality, but we ask that your tree be in good taste and suitable for display at a family event. Tree submissions are not limited to decorating a purchased tree.
Win Prizes:
A panel of judges and the public will cast their votes for the most creative, festive, and eye-catching trees. Winners will receive exciting prizes!
Support Local Charities:
After the judging is complete, you can optionally enter your tree into our auction, after which you will receive 50% of the sale, with the other 50% benefiting three worthy charities: Family SOS, Children's Wish Foundation and Christmas Daddies. You can either take the 50% proceeds, or alternatively donate all proceeds to charity. Entering your tree into the auction does not guarantee that your tree will be sold. If it is not sold at auction, you will be notified and may pick up your tree following the event.

Judging Criteria
Trees will be evaluated and scored by the following criteria:
Artistic quality: demonstrates artistic talent and skill in the creation or assembly of decorations.
Creativity: demonstrates originality and innovative qualities. Imaginative use of decorations / tree.
Overall presentation: demonstrates a cohesive theme or idea. Complementary colors/design.
