The Gloucester Resource Council invites all GRC members, including nonprofits, government organizations, and private businesses, to participate in the Festival of Trees! Whether you come to every meeting, or haven’t been in years, we would love to have you join us.Join us as we turn Main Street into a holiday wonderland full of joy, kindness, and support for the many nonprofits, businesses, and government organizations that help make our community great.
When: Friday, December 6th, 2024 from 5pm-8pm
Where: Gloucester Main Street and in the Court Circle
What: Seek-and Find along Main Street, family activities, photo opportunities, resource fair, and tons of holiday fun.
Why:
- To highlight the GRC and its organizations as they provide critical services to our community.
- To promote the resources available in our community.
- To encourage involvement and engagement of Gloucester and surrounding area residents, whether that be through receiving services, volunteering, donating, or helping spread the mission of the organizations that inspire them.
How: GRC members that register will have a holiday tree or wreath hosted in a Main Street business that promotes their organization’s mission and/or services. Your tree/wreath should tell the story of your organization.
Organizations must provide the tree/wreath, all decorations, and battery operated lights. Setup and breakdown must be provided by the organizations as well.
Trees/Wreaths will be up from December 6 - January 1, ensuring hundreds of people have the opportunity to get to know more about your organization.
Registering for a tree/wreath also registers your organization for the resource fair, which will take place along Main Street and in the Court Circle.
We encourage you to think creatively about what activities and giveaways you will provide from 5-8pm to make meaningful connections with the community.
These could include holiday spirited crafts or interactive activities that spread awareness like:
- Behavioral health organizations making stress reducing calming toys with a holiday theme
- Aging services organizations making cards for residents at facilities
- Housing providers building gingerbread houses

The deadline to register is October 15, 2024.
There are no limits to the creative experience that shares the mission and vision of your organization or business. We can’t wait to build this fun and engaging event with you for our community!
