A free lantern procession and finale event in Northcliffe Woods. The parade marks the end of several weeks of workshops exploring how people from different cultures mark death. The University of Bradford in collaboration with Cecil Green Arts, Bradford Death Cafe and Kynd is hosting Bradford's first Festival of the Dead. We will be parading memorial lanterns and remembering loved ones who have passed. Live music will also be played.Meet at the gates of Cliff Wood Ave in the lower woods at 5pm at the end of the car park. Bring a lantern if you have made one with us or torch/lantern to light the way. Hot drinks will be served at the BMES clubhouse at the end of the event.
Please wear suitable footwear for a short walk into the woods. There will be toilet facilities at the clubhouse and a temporary disabled toilet. The woodland path is uneven but should be accessible for wheelchairs and buggies.
Please park responsibly, there is limited parking available in the entrances to the woods at Cliff Wood Ave and on Bradford Road.
