Festival of Small Halls is a series of tours that takes the best folk and contemporary acoustic artists and sends them on the road to tiny halls in communities all over Australia. It is produced by Woodfordia Inc in partnership with many other wonderful Australian festivals, regional partners and great lovers and supporters of folk and contemporary acoustic music. Karramomus Hall stands on the traditional lands of the Yorta Yorta People.
Building the Hall was suggested by the Karramomus Country Women’s Assoc Inc.. The local community made the bricks locally and helped create the 63-year-old Hall. After many years of little use, it has been restored to its best through a dedicated Committee holding Quilt Shows, High Teas and Christmas meals over the last 3 years.
Festival of Small Halls rolls into Karramomus on Friday, 14 March 2025 with Hat Fitz and Cara and Lucy Farrell.
Opening the show will be local act Angelus!
Angelus evolved in late 2024 when cellist Emma King joined local folk duo Julie Price and Lou Costa to create a new group greater than the sum of its parts. Emma adapted her classical training, transforming Julie and Lou’s music to create a more rich and complex sound that features ear-worm melodies, clever harmonies, keys, strings and the odd kazoo solo. With a mix of originals and refurbished covers, Angelus trio tell the stories of life, wrapped in an honesty that compels their audience with every song. Julie, Louise and Emma all live and play in central Victoria.
BBQ and refreshments will be available from 5:30pm – 6:30pm catered by the Karramomus Hall Committee.
