Festival of Small Halls is a series of tours that takes the best folk and contemporary acoustic artists and sends them on the road to tiny halls in communities all over Australia. It is produced by Woodfordia Inc in partnership with many other wonderful Australian festivals, regional partners and great lovers and supporters of folk and contemporary acoustic music.
Ballan Neighbourhood House stands on the traditional lands of the Wadawurrung People.
With a beautiful façade constructed in 1886, this Classical Style building, the former Mechanics Institute, is now a hub for the Moorabool community. Ballan Neighbourhood House is space that hosts a range of events for people to connect, learn, reduce social isolation and contribute to Ballan’s vibrancy. historical, aesthetic and social significance to the Moorabool Shire.
Festival of Small Halls rolls into Ballan on Wednesday, 5 March 2025 with Hat Fitz and Cara and Lucy Farrell.
Opening the show will be local act Paper Cranes!
Paper_Cranes is an emerging indie pop/ folk artist from the Western suburbs of Victoria. Known for her captivating, heartfelt songs; her original music will definitely get you in your feelings as you listen to her warm vocal tones and her captivating storytelling ability. Her relatable songs revolve around her life experiences, struggles and wins. What also sets her apart from the crowded music scene is her personal hand-made paper cranes that she carries with her to her live performances. Each paper crane has its own special message on it, “whatever message you get is meant for you” saids Paper_Cranes. She performs frequently all around Victoria at various events from weddings to parties and various pubs and venues around Melbourne. She deeply connects to every performance she expresses, ensuring everyone has had a connection to her music in some way.

Child Admission (Under 18, Must Be Accompanied By An Adult) – $15

Ballan Neighbourhood House has accessible entry (back entrance to the building is at ground level) and has accessible bathrooms (2 accessible toilets and baby change facilities).

Festival of Small Halls events take place in venues operating under an approved VIC Health Covid Safe Event Checklist, and has stringent Workplace Health and Safety requirements for all travelling artists and crew. Under the terms and conditions of all events, you must not attend if you have any symptoms of Covid-19.
