The Forróçacana group emerged in 1997 from the union of young
people from Rio
in love with Luiz Gonzaga's forró pé de serra, Jackson do
Pandeiro and Dominguinhos.
Soon the group embarked on an authorial career throughout Brazil, and
created a style that combined forró with samba, choro, among other
world influences such as rock, reggae and oriental music.
He made several international tours, in France, Portugal, United
States.

A Tim Prize for Brazilian music (2006)
2 Latin Grammy nominations
3 CDs released
A live DVD at the canecão (RJ), featuring Elba
Ramalho, Alceu Valença, Fagner, Moraes Moreira, Alcione, Geraldo
Azevedo and Zeca Baleiro.
All members of the group are composers and multi-instrumentalists.
