I’m Giovanni Grimaudo, a nationally recognized performer who has entertained audiences across the country with over 100 shows each year. As someone with deep roots in Italian culture—born to Sicilian and Neapolitan parents who immigrated to the United States in the late '70s—I am passionate about sharing the beauty of Italian heritage. Italian was my first language, and singing traditional Italian songs has been a part of my life since childhood.
This year, I’m honored again to serve as a headlining performer at two incredible Italian cultural events: Festa Italiana Charlotte and Ciao Italia Matthews Festa. These events are distinct celebrations with unique missions, connected only by my role as a performer and their shared goal of bringing people of all backgrounds together to celebrate the richness of Italian culture.
About Festa Italiana Charlotte
The 20th-anniversary celebration of Festa Italiana Charlotte will take place on May 18th at the stunning glass atrium of Gateway Village (800 Trade St.) in uptown Charlotte. This beautiful venue, renowned for its exceptional acoustics, will host an unforgettable lineup of performers, including myself. Indulge in the finest Italian cuisine, featuring delicacies from the best restaurants in the Carolinas. Enjoy a full day of all-you-can-eat and drink, with your admission price covering everything, including adult beverages. Don’t miss this incredible celebration of Italian culture, food, and music.
For two decades, this festival has supported Nevins Inc. (https://nevinsinc.org) a vital organization that has empowered individuals with special needs for over 70 years. Nevins provides services like job placement, social activities, and family support, transforming lives and fostering independence. This milestone event aims to make a lasting impact on the community while celebrating Italian culture.
About Ciao Italia Matthews
The 3rd annual Ciao Italia Matthews festival will take place Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Stumptown Park in downtown Matthews. This exciting event is expected to draw over 10,000 to 15,000 attendees! Ciao Italia Matthews will feature exotic Italian vehicles (Lamborghini, Ferrari, Alpha Romeo, Maserati, Vespa, and more), incredible Italian food, art, pottery, jewelry, handmade leather goods, family-friendly activities, and continuous live entertainment throughout the day….and more! It’s a vibrant showcase of Italian culture, welcoming people from all walks of life.
