NAPCA to host 6th annual Festa della SopressataThe North American Pizza & Culinary Academy in Lisle is gearing up for its fourth annual Festa della Sopressata. Slated for April 12th, the competition will pit local sopressata makers in a pitched battle for first, second and third place trophies and prizes.
The event is being sponsored by Hardcore Italians and Pastorelli and hosted by NAPCA founder and chef instructor Anthony Iannone.
A traditional Calabresi salami, sopressata is crafted and cured in basements across the Chicago area. The four-hour event is as much of a party for friends and family of the competitors as it was a serious tournament for the best homemade sopressata.
The event will feature a Calabrese luncheon that includes antipasto, pizza rustica, pizza in Teglia, farfalle alforno con melanzena, as well as, wine.
Tickets are $40 per person for the luncheon, which is open to non-competitors and there is no charge for competitors. Seats will be first come first serve, if seats are occupied, it will become standing room only.
Please note tickets are priced per person and per competitor (1 Non competitor ticket = 1 General Admission guest or 1 Competitor ticket = 1 competitor ONLY)
