It is now estimated that one in 6 couples in Ireland will have fertility issues while trying for a baby. This can be a devastating journey.
This two-hour fertility yoga workshop will offer a safe and supportive space for women on their journey towards conception. The workshop will help decrease stress, worry and anxiety and promote optimal health in body and mind. It is suitable for all women who are trying to conceive, whether you are seeking medical assistance or trying to conceive naturally.
There is a growing body of evidence suggesting that Yoga can be beneficial for boosting fertility. However there are so many different types of classes out there and it can be confusing to know which type of class and which poses would be of most benefit during this phase of life.
With fertility yoga we focus on all the poses and practices that are most beneficial at this time. You do not need to have previous yoga experience to attend this workshop.
There are a number of ways that these workshops can help you on your fertility journey.
• Reduce stress and tension
• Helps to stimulate the endocrine system and balance hormones
• Encourages a positive mindset
• Helps release built up anxiety and underlying trauma
• Helps you to truly switch off and let go
• Can increase the circulation to the pelvic muscles and reproductive system
• Can help to regulate your cycle
• Helps get you back in touch with your body in a positive way
The workshop is held approximately once a month and includes breathing techniques, gentle yoga poses, fertility-based visualisations and affirmations and a deeply relaxing meditation practice called Yoga Nidra.
The most important aspect to these workshops is the provision of a nurturing and supportive environment for women. Unfortunately, infertility is still very much a taboo subject in Ireland and that secrecy can add to the stress and sense of isolation at an already difficult time.
Here you will have the chance to practice with and gain support from other women on this journey. This sense of community, support and understanding can facilitate healing on a deep spiritual level.
Claire is a Yoga teacher with 14 years experience. She is also a mother of one who has personal experience of infertility after a diagnosis of premature ovarian failure. She has a deep understanding of the healing power of Fertility Yoga and cares passionately about sharing this practice with other women on this journey.
