We are excited to invite you to join us for a day of street mural painting on October 5th!Earlier this year, PedalSafe ROA received a $15,000 Flagship Grant through the 2024 AARP Community Challenge program to reconfigure intersections along the Ferdinand Ave corridor between Elm Ave and Riverside Blvd SW. Now we need your help to bring this project to life!
On October 5, volunteers will help paint artistic designs, created by Roanoke artist Maggie Perrin-Key, on the street in areas designated by the city to reduce speeding, improve sidewalk and crossing visibility, and increase cyclist and pedestrian safety.
No painting experience is necessary and all painting supplies will be provided. There are also options to help sign in other volunteers and hand out painting supplies.
We will have 2 shifts: 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm. You can sign up for the morning, afternoon, or both shifts.
People of all ages are encouraged to participate. We anticipate needing at least 50 people over the course of day to complete the project, so share this opportunity far and wide!

This project is possible thanks to the generous support of AARP and Toyota Motor North America.
