MUSIC FOR A CAUSE. OUR MISSION FOR FEBRUARY 20TH:
Ambient Headquarters and Twisted Frequency Festival are fundraising for the Save Our Springs campaign (SOS). Twisted Frequency has been running its festival in the Cobb Valley, where the Tākaka River flows and meets with Te Waikoropupū Springs. The local population draws directly from the massive aquifer that surfaces there for drinking water, making its purity a major community concern. It is renowned as Aotearoas’ largest freshwater springs, a true environmental and cultural treasure, holding some of the world's clearest water.
Because of the Government’s Fast Track Amendment Bill, a toxic mining operation is set to take place, resulting in these waters becoming contaminated with toxic arsenic and cyanide. If this goes ahead, it will mark the beginning of an environmental catastrophe with disastrous consequences.
The Save Our Springs Campaign has been fighting tirelessly to prevent this from happening and we’ve decided to aid and assist this major mission.

FERAL:
The one and only Feral, a Hypnus Records artist and hypnotic techno pioneer, will be headlining our fundraiser. He embodies the spirit of deep techno, of which defines Hypnus Records, through his passion for audio engineering, hardware experimentation and fascination for percussive instruments. Feral’s affinity for the shamanic calls of the tribal drum have led him across the world to discover and nurture his defining sound. We’re beyond blessed to host him for his first touch down in Ōtautahi, and for such a meaningful and crucial cause.
