FEMME HOUSE presents INTRO TO DJ'ING
Have you always wanted to DJ but don't know where to start? Do you feel intimidated in a predominantly male space? FEMME HOUSE presents INTRO DJ'ING is an inclusive 3 hour workshop that covers DJ fundamentals hosted by professional DJs Joanna Magik and JayemKayem.
You will leave the session understanding beat matching, phase matching, mixed in key and more. There will also be a Q&A to ask your instructors technical dj questions and music industry questions.
No DJ experience needed. Workshop is designed for female, female-identifying and non-binary participants.
WHAT YOU NEED
Participants need a laptop.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTORS
JOANNA MAGIK is a Canadian DJ and house music producer with an energetic stage presence and releases on some of today’s most influential house music labels. She's DJ'd at the legendary Shambhala Music Festival, Charivari Detroit and opening sets for the NHL Calgary Flames. Her background as a professional athlete and sports announcer (including the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games) explain her big energy and advocacy for health and movement. instagram: @joannamagik www.joannamagik.com
JAYEMKAYEM is a DJ currently based in Toronto. Since 2015 this Calgary native has been growing her profile as one of Canada's best open format selectors who can command a variety of crowds and bring an unforgettable energy to events. The brands she has provided music for include Red Bull, Spotify, TikTok, Nike, adidas, Puma, Lululemon, Google, the Toronto Raptors, the Calgary Flames, and many others, and she has played at Piknic Eletronik, NXNE, Wayhome Festival and Veld. instagram: @jayemkayem

FEMME HOUSE was co-founded by LP Giobbi and Hermixalot in 2019, intended to foster more equitable opportunities for women and gender-expansive individuals in the technical and behind the scenes areas of music.
