About this Event
This workshop is supported by the Womanity Foundation and the Center on Gender Equity and Health, University of California, San Diego, and it is open for all activists, programmers, donors and researchers who are interested in discussing feminist scale and power-balanced partnerships.
We will begin by sharing learnings from a research study that examined power dynamics among funders, programme designers, and implementers involved in adapting and scaling Program H (Lebanon), Take Back the Tech Campaign (Mexico), Safetipin (South Africa), Legal Promoters Training and Community Care Model (Cape Verde), and Transforming Masculinities (Nigeria). This will be followed by a discussion with individuals who are from and/or are currently working at organisations in the Global South who will share how the study’s findings resonate with their experiences and best practices for effective approaches that support South-South collaborations. The second half of the workshop will include interactive activities, allowing participants to exchange insights and encourage deeper reflection and action towards building values-based partnerships that accelerate decolonising efforts in the VAWG field.
