Feminism, Interrupted

A discussion exploring the insidious nature of girl-boss feminism and how different branches of feminism can work towards a common goal.

We call on all critical thinkers who are open to new ideas that can shape political and social debate in Cymru and beyond, to join us at our next Reading Room event in Canopi, Caerdydd.

A Pwnc Llosg Reading Room is a space to interact with challenging topics and get closer to divergent ideas and perspectives.

It brings the knowledge of published Pluto Press authors to Cardiff, and provides a framework to tap into the wealth of knowledge and experience in the room, to explore the topic from a local context.

All our reading rooms involve:

• a Q&A between a Pluto Press author and a Pwnc Llosg facilitator
• time for the room to break out into smaller group discussions about what’s been discussed
• a Q&A opened up for anybody to ask the author and facilitator questions
• cake and soft drinks for everyone
• a resource produced post-event, highlighting key themes and questions, which will be sent to all attendees and published on our website

• how busy will it be?

there will never be more than fifty people in attendance.

we do this to ensure the event is rich and meaningful for everyone who comes along!

• will there be breaks?

yes, during the typical two-hour Reading Room event, there will be a break

• do I need to read the book beforehand?

you don’t need to have read the book!

just bring along your curiosity and an open mind.

• do i have to pay?

nope!

all of our Pwnc Llosg Reading Rooms are totally free to attend.

if you book a ticket and can no longer attend, please let us know because we have limited capacity.

• will there be snacks and drinks available?

a selection of hot and cold drinks will be provided by the Canopi cafe staff, as well as cake.(you don’t have to pay for these, either!)

there will be a vegan and gluten free option, if there’s a particular allergy or dietary requirement you’d like to ask about, please get in touch!

• do I have to book a ticket?

yes, you do have to book a ticket for each event you want to attend
