Attention: Females and Parents of Females!Hockey Nova Scotia will be offering an introductory Females Only Level 1 and 2 officiating clinic in Antigonish next Saturday. Cost is only $50. There will be a typical in-class clinic followed by an ice session. Bring a helmet and skates. No mask or visor needed. Tracksuit, whatever you wore to skating parties in the 90s.
Female officials working female games is something I’ve always promoted and something HNS and Hockey Canada strive for. Fact of the matter is, we in Cape Breton West would just be adding to our already steep travel bills to make that happen. This is a great opportunity for girls and women and would help our program immensely with the rise in female hockey. Let’s face it, our rinks would be lucky to keep the lights on without girls hockey. But, more hockey doesn’t mean more officials and just means less officials to go around. If you want to get back in to the game or ensure that you stay in the game long after your playing days are done, PUT ON THE STRIPES! If you need any info, feel free to shoot me a message.
