Join us in celebrating the musical legacy of Fela Anikulapo Kuti! Fela was a Nigerian musician/activist and innovator of the musical genre of Afrobeat. His music has been sampled/covered by numerous artists including: Burna Boy, Wizkid Beyoncé, Common, Master’s at Work, George Clinton, Mos Def, Missy Elliot, & J. Cole, to name a few. DJs CK & MauMau will be spinning music by Fela, as well as music influenced by his legacy including: Afrobeat, Afro House, Disco, Funk, Amapiano and other funky African jams. Come to dance, build community, or just listen to some dope music. There is no admission fee!
