Pia Gynell-Jorgensen is a visual artist and designer based on Kaurna Land/Adelaide, playing with graphite, oil paint and oil sticks to create surreal, often dream-like scenes. Drawing on themes of personal experience and global affairs, her illustrations take varied forms, from intricate surrealism in pencil, to bold, ruminative colour fields in larger abstract oil paintings. Her commercial illustration and design presence resides largely within Adelaide's music industry, in an effort to translate music to visual art, and ultimately elevate each artform.
