We are pleased to invite you to the next collaboration between two improvisers.
For whom: for everyone who wants to develop the skills of dance improvisation, creation in the moment, expand boundaries without losing their individuality.
It will be most useful for those who practice contact improvisation, movement improvisation, acting improvisation or for those who wish to try these out.
In this class of contact improvisation we will focus on feeling and sensing more within those naturally occurring ebbs within a dance. How can the stillness within movement and in ourselves give us new information and greater pleasure in our dances? We will explore contrasts of ‘go, go, go with ‘less less less’, and look towards developing an intuitive dance which can arise utilising differing extremes. The deeper we can drop into the actuality of the dance, which is physical, through sensation of skin, weight, momentum and inertia, the more we may allow breath and calm into the dance. Accessing the intelligence of the body we will look for possibilities of story and other creative experiences to arise.
