The UK is grappling with a wave of challenges, posing a significant threat to food security. These pressures, combined with international conflicts like the Ukraine crisis, and the UK's heavy reliance on imports (with approximately 48% of the country's food coming from overseas), paint a stark picture of the nation's food insecurity landscape.
Whilst the government has recently announced a Food Strategy, there is still much disquiet from the industry and wider public. Therefore, this event invites us to critically assess our understanding of food security and consider how we build a more secure and resilient food system.
