Lindy Johnson, a native Floridian, moved to Satellite Beach from Jacksonville in 1960. During high school, she was lucky to have a friend who helped tag sea turtles because of his dune buggy. That was her start in learning about sea turtles. On her way to becoming a public school educator at the University of Florida, she met and worked for Dr. Archie Carr. She then spent time in Tortuguero during the summer of 1986 and experienced all she had been working with from Dr. Carr's lab in Florida. Come and enjoy her story-telling talk with someone who knew Archie Carr and the days of early turtle work.Social time starts at 6:30, and the meeting begins at 7:00.
