Repair all the things! It's Garbage-Free February's 20th Anniversary and we’re celebrating by hosting a Repair Café on Saturday, February 21 (11am - 4pm) at The Fixery - our Food Bank office that’s evolving into a repair shop: 7429 49 Ave, Red Deer (Bay 12, 2nd floor).
Garbage-Free February is a local campaign that began here in 2006 and continues as an annual community challenge to reduce waste and build better everyday habits. In 2026, it's no longer “a month of willpower” to produce no waste for the shortest month of the year. It's now becoming Red Deer’s annual civic training month that produces visible community value - less landfill, more repair and local resilience, and a stronger food system.
We're re-introducing GFF as a proud Red Deer tradition (20-year milestone) with a modern format including learning pathways at our new repair hub, The Fixery. So, break something and come and check it out! ;)
Item registration is requested (so we bring the right tools and schedule enough volunteer “Fixers”):

Please drop a thumbs up and/or heart, and comment what you’re hoping to fix so we can prep properly. We’ll also have beverages, light snacks, music, plus garlic bulbs and garlic powder for sale AND 50% off indoor growing supplies!
