About this Event
Pilates for Dancers
For our February Practitioner Class, Felicity Beach-Pennock will lead Pilates for Dancers. This session will explore Pilates-based movements that can support technique and reduce injury risk for dancers.
Felicity is trained in Psychology, Dance Science, and Pilates, building on her dance experience from a young age. She is passionate about all things movement and believes movement is key for mental and physical well-being, which underpins her work at FJBPILATES.
About class
This class is open to dance practitioners of all abilities and experiences and is perfect for anyone who hasn't danced for a while. We want to create a supportive environment that allows anyone who has trained in dance many moons ago to come back and reignite their love for dance. Perhaps a dance teacher running their own dance school who wants to move for their own enjoyment.
Our programme for Dance Practitioners is subsidised, and therefore, participants must meet the following criteria to benefit from this provision.
Participants must:
Be over 18 years old.
No longer be studying within a formal education context.
Hold a completed qualification in creative arts at Level 5 (foundation degree) or Level 6 (undergraduate degree) or higher, or an equivalent e.g., Scottish Bachelor's Degree or international qualification. As well as artists working professionally with more informal training.
Be currently based in or from the North East (Tees Valley, County Durham, Northumberland and Tyne & Wear)
Please note that spaces for professional activities are limited and offered to those who meet the above criteria to ensure those who are pursuing a career in dance can access suitable training, support and professional development to meet their needs within the professional dance industry. TeesDance reserves the right to amend the qualifying criteria where appropriate.
