Oral Pathology Essentials for the Dental Clinician with Dr. Leticia Ferreira Cabido
About this Event

This course offers an up-to-date overview of common oral mucosal diseases and lesions encountered in dental practice. It covers etiology, clinical presentation, diagnostic strategies and treatment modalities, with an emphasis on the latest evidence-based literature. Topics include leukoplakia, frictional keratosis, lichen planus, candidiasis, recurrent aphthous stomatitis, herpes simplex infections and common oral tumors. The course concludes with an interactive discussion focused on differential diagnosis and the clinical features of various pathologic conditions affecting the oral cavity, equipping dental clinicians with essential tools for accurate recognition, diagnosis and management.


LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Recognize the key clinical characteristics of common oral mucosal lesions.
  • Establish a systematic approach to diagnosing oral mucosal lesions.
  • Discuss current literature on the etiology and management of common oral mucosal lesions.
  • Identify appropriate treatment options and/or referral strategies based on evidence-based guidelines.
