The Rockford Park District's Outdoor Education and Recreation department invites you to our monthly Craft Club series, where we will be diving into nature-themed crafting experiences. From whittling to clay to willow weaving and so many things in between, sign up for one or several courses in this series as we learn introductory techniques for a wide variety of unique and creative activities selected to broaden your crafting horizons. Each course is meant to be a standalone experience that compliments other projects within the series. Courses will be two hours in length, setting you up with the basics to complete each project. Seasonally, Craft Club will rotate between locations: Atwood Center and the lodge at Alpine Hills Adventure Park. Come find a new perspective on an old favorite crafting activity or learn something completely new!Join us at the beautiful Atwood Center for some lovely leatherworking! For our February Craft Club, participants will explore the basics of leather stamping. This hands-on course will allow for time to practice skills such as leather preparation, the use of stamping tools, and provide information for finishing your piece. These learned skills will be applied to the creation of a leather stamped bracelet that participants will be able to wear home by the end of the course!
February's Craft Club will be held at Atwood Center (2685 New Milford School Road, Rockford IL). Registration is $20 per session. Must be age 16 and up to register. Crafting supplies will be provided.
