February - known, among other things, as the month of love and romance - brings medieval romance and mystery to the Las Vegas Celtic Society Book Club. Join us in reading and discussing Juliet Marilier’s Heart's Blood, a historical fantasy novel and Celtic re-telling of Beauty and the Beast. Set in medieval Ireland, the story features a scribe named Caitrin who flees to the mysterious Whistling Tor in order to break a dark family curse, and becomes entangled with its cursed chieftain, Anluan. Blending romance, folklore, and gothic elements, this tale describes how its heroine, Caitrin, uses her skills to uncover the secrets of the haunted fortress to help Anluan, who, rather than being a literal beast, actually suffers from a childhood illness (palsy).
Please join us on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 6p-8p at McMullan’s Irish Pub in the lovely Victorian Room to uncover the romance and mysteries of this month’s book!
